Morgan Plus 8 3.9ltr V8

The Morgan Plus 8 was originally designed to out perform the Porsche 911. For a time it was the fast production car from 0-60mph. Over time though, it has become the cruiser, the alternative choice, the wolf in sheep’s clothing!

This 1997, 3.9ltr Plus 8 takes that handle and runs with it. Not only does it sound great, it is so comfortable, you waft along, if you want or you can bury your right foot and the car will take off.

Finished in a Rolls Royce colour, Midnight blue metallic, the car looks classy and is great order considering it’s nearly 30 years old, but let’s face it, 30 years isn’t old for a Morgan. The interior contrasts the darker paint work, the leather, which again is in great condition, is Connally leather in grey.

The hood is the original traditional type (my favourite as the line is cleaner at the rear end) mohair in great condition, the Plus 8 also comes with a tonneau with headrest cut outs, this means you don’t have to take the headrest off when you leave the car. There are hood tensioners to make getting the roof on and off easier.

Under to bonnet has seen an upgraded fuel map. The Optimax chip gives better fuel economy when cruising, but when you want to give it the bean the system will run a little richer meaning more performance. A lot of these aren’t available anymore so they’re hard to get hold off, the original chip has been retained if you wanted to or needed to change it back.

A great service file comes with this car as you’d expect and has a log of miles with services and MOTs.
