We are pleased to
be in a position to confirm details of the pricing and specification
for the new Aero 8 4.8 litre.
The team at the Morgan factory are
working flat out with the final stages of testing, and are on schedule
to start production as planned in late January for Aero 8 4.8.
The first cars will be Manual versions, after which the Automatic
gearbox will be available. Development on this automatic box has shown
it to be the faster of the two cars, and we are delighted that they
have been able to incorporate a “blip” of the throttle during manual
downchanges. This makes it a very sporty drive and sound fantastic
into the bargain. ZF claim that this is the fastest changing automatic
gearbox in the world and Morgan know they are very lucky to be able to
use it.
The engine power and torque figures are yet to be confirmed, however
are expected to be in the region of 375 - 380 Bhp and around 362 lb-ft
of torque. The performance increment over the outgoing 4.4 is marked.
There will be a number of minor detail changes, such as a new hand
brake mechanism and centre console with air vents.
